As a production intern, I worked with technicians on the bonded composite assembly team. This involved joining prefabricated carbon panels to create the vehicle’s substructure. Later steps in the manufacturing process involved installing carbon composite and metallic components onto the completed substructure.

Later in my 12-week internship, I contributed to the program’s continuous improvement team by identifying opportunities for manufacturing process improvement. This involved the design of a CNC fixture to automate a fabrication process for more than 250 parts per vehicle. I was also responsible for updating vehicle CAD assemblies, writing installation instructions, and creating a component acceptance process for the new fabrication method.
